Witness a powerful simulated helicopter rescue by the U.S. Coast Guard at the Grand Haven Coast Guard Festival 2025. This video showcases the remarkable teamwork of a crew from Coast Guard Air Station Detroit, including Lieutenants Christina Silva and Zach McGee, flight mechanic AET2 Cassidy Dishman, and aviation rescue technician Dennis Scanlon. They expertly maneuver their MH-65 Dolphin helicopter—the nation's primary short-range search and rescue aircraft—to demonstrate their life-saving skills. The video also highlights the extensive mission of the Coast Guard, which was established in 1790 and saves an average of 15 lives daily. A special focus is placed on the elite Coast Guard rescue swimmers, all of whom are qualified Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) and complete some of the most rigorous training in the world. The men and women of Coast Guard Air Station Detroit thank the Coast Guard Festival for their support and are proud to be your "Great Lake Guardians." Programming courtesy of miraCo.
