Hackley Park Holiday Tree Lighting 2023

Muskegon's enormous tree in Hackley park was lit up for the first time of the year on November 25th. The event started at 5 with horse drawn carriage rides, free hot chocolate and cookies, a holiday themed train, and entertainment by the Grand Rapids Caroling Company. At 6:00 the Muskegon Fire Department escorted Mr. And Mrs. Clause down Muskegon Avenue and through the crowd to the stage. As tradition, mayor Ken Johnson presented Santa Claus with the key to The City of Muskegon and the countdown was off. 3-2-1 and the lights illuminated the many faces surrounding the tree. The caroling continued down the dazzling Western avenue. GLOW is A project that was put together by the Lakeshore Legacy Project. These lights will remain up until January 6, 2024.
